DISCUSSION 4: PEACE & PARTNERSHIP
Our fourth discussion focused on SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, as well as SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. We featured Dr. Tanya Lee as our speaker, who is an instructor at Stanford SPICE and the co-founder of SPICE's new US-China Co-Lab on Climate Solutions. She provided insights about her experiences teaching in cross-cultural education and the growing need for a global perspective in all industries, not just those related to international cooperation. DISCUSSION 3: PROSPERITY
Our third discussion focused on five SDGs under the umbrella of "prosperity": Affordable & Clean Energy, Decent Work & Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation, & Infrastructure, Reduced Inequalities, and Sustainable Cities & Communities. Our speaker, Mayor Lydia Kou of Palo Alto, spoke to us about her experience living in four different countries and her fight to solve homelessness, make California safer, and create affordable housing. DISCUSSION 2: PEOPLE
Our second discussion focused on the people-related SDGs: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, and Life Above Land. We hosted a panel with Ming Dai, a Senior VP of commercial banking at East West Bank, and Derek Zhu, the CTO of Human Longevity, who addressed us on how equitable practices have been implemented in banking and science, as well as the importance of a global perspective in both the business and tech sectors. DISCUSSION 1: PLANET
Our first discussion, Planet, connected high school and college students across the world through a dialogue about environmental SDGs: Clean Water and Sanitation, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life Below Water, and Life Above Land. We featured Mayor Darcy Paul of Cupertino to speak and address questions about his career as a public servant, Cupertino's sustainability projects, and the process of passing local policies. ​A recording of the event and a four minute highlight video is available on our Youtube channel.

PROJECT 17 x JOJ EPA WORKSHOP
The Project 17 x Journals of Justice EPA workshop aimed to build the communication and respectful listening skills necessary for cooperation between people from different national, geographical, and cultural backgrounds. The event connected 50 high school students from across the world, focusing on the work of different Environmental Protection Agencies (EPAs) and equivalents in different countries. We featured Shally Shanker, the founder and managing partner of AiiM Partners, to speak on her career in sustainablity investment.
